Dr. Douglas Tallamy, Professor of Biological Sciences of the University of Delaware, will present a webinar based on his "Bringing Back the Natives" tour. The tour included 40 fabulous private garden that provide habitat for wildlife, are pesticide-free, conserve water, and are 60% or more native plants.

Cynthia Brian is known for her column in Lamorinda Weekly “Digging Deep with the Goddess Gardener”. She is an author, actor, radio personality and speaker. She will educate us on Firescaping, something she knows and cares about as her home in Moraga was almost lost to wildfire last year. Her award-winning article about that experience was titled “Scary, Scary Night”.

Robin Parer is one of the foremost collectors and propagators of Geraniums and Pelargoniums. She owns Geraniaceae, a small mail-order nursery in Marin County. She wrote and illustrated “The Plant Lover’s Guide to Hardy Geraniums.”

Dr. Linda Chalker-Scott is the author of “The Informed Gardener”, among other books, and has held professorships at the University of Washington and Washington State University. She focuses on Myths in the Garden that are very informative! For her presentation, she will provide a PowerPoint presentation (and a handout, if we meet in person) for people to watch or read as homework before she is available via Zoom for Q&A by members.
February 11
Shawna Anderson, of Thrillers, Fillers & Spillers fame, is a Certified Horticulturist at Orchard Nursery. Known as the Container Diva, she teaches classes and has talked at other garden clubs about Succulents in Containers. She will demonstrate that talent for our Club.
March 11
Najat Nicola, a member of Diablo Women’s Garden Club, has been a frequent guest at our meetings. She is a talented floral designer who always creates Fabulous Arrangements. We are excited that she will present her skill to us again.
April 8
Jill Appenzeller, also a member of Diablo WGC, is the author of “Postcards from the Hedge: Seasons in a Suburban Garden”. Her topic will be Growing Your Own Cutting Garden: It’s More Complicated Than You Think. It is sure to be a lively presentation!
May 13
Burling Leong of Burlington Rose Nursery in Visalia will speak on a variety of rose topics such as Restoration of Historical Rose Gardens, including that at Hearst Castle. If we meet in person, she will bring roses for sale.
